Licensed for 250 beds, Sovah Health – Danville is the most comprehensive source of healthcare in the Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina. The facility has served the community and region for more than 120 years and was formerly known as The Memorial Hospital and Danville Regional Medical Center. In 2017, Danville and Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County united to form Sovah Health – a regional delivery healthcare system with two campuses. Today, the Danville campus employs 1300 people, has over 175 physicians and allied health professionals and provides over 25 medical specials and 14 surgical services to the community. Sovah Health – Danville has the largest, leading-edge surgical capacity with advanced capabilities (including 13 state-of-the art surgical suites).

Sovah Cancer Center – Medical Oncology & Hematology provides medical oncology and hematology services. Previously located on Executive Drive, the Center moved to a newly remodeled space on the first floor of Sovah Health – Danville in 2017. Using a unique team-based approach, the medical oncology team collaborates with Sovah Health’s radiologists, pathologists, surgeons and radiation oncologists to design a specific treatment plan for each patient. Under the medical oncologist’s supervision, our oncology certified nurses administer chemotherapy and other supportive infusion services. Each patient is closely monitored to assess progress and treatment effectiveness.

Graduate Medical Education Program – The Graduate Medical Education Program at Sovah Health is dually accredited (AOA and ACGME) and is dedicated to training physicians to be the best possible primary care physicians. The program began July 1, 2010 and is affiliated with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) and Osteopathic Medical Network of Excellence in Education (OMNEE), the regional postgraduate training institution.
