Ballou Park is not only home to ball fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters and a playground, it is also one of the oldest municipal parks in Virginia. Situated on West Main Street across from the Ballou Park Shopping Center, Ballou is a popular destination for family reunions, group picnics and is also home to Ballou Recreation Center and several large events such as Festival in the Park. Amenities include an amphitheater, 27- hole disc golf course, softball/baseball field, tennis courts, playground, nature trail, picnic shelters, picnic sites, a Little Free Library and recreation center.

Ballou Park Nature Trail – Ballou Park Nature Trail is .75 miles, making it perfect for an invigorating jaunt into the woods. Interpretive markers, accompanied by the trail brochure descriptions, highlight the flora and fauna found along this forested hillside path. The trail is located below the tennis courts. 

Danville Hot Park – Ballou Park is one of Danville’s Hot Parks. The wireless antenna installed in Ballou Park allows park patrons free Wi-Fi Internet access.
